In 1992 the still young artists from Los Angeles were able to show their work at the Galerie Krinzinger Wien following a long period of preparation. The exhibition „LAX" ended up receiving a lot international acclaim. One of the most renowned newspapers at the time wrote that this show, along with its symposium of several days, posed real competition for any museum. A huge amount of time and effort went into making it possible and the impact of the exhibition was nothing short of legendary.
The editions were produced alongside this historical exhibition with the title „LAX", that is to say while the artists were actually in Vienna.

EN: Box with an artist book, VHS and catalogue, original signed! Paul McCarthy and Mike Kelley produced the video “Heidi”, a “Al(m)(p)traum-Märchen” (an alpine dreamy/nightmarish tale) which reflects some of the alpine references of Austria to the Swiss homeland of the little mountain lass. McCarthy has added a signed silkscreen artist’s book in black and white to the colorful frolicking on the mountain.
The real edition size is of this box is very low, because in those days not more than around 20 copies of thecatalogues have been signed by the late Mike Kelley.
Mit dieser schönen "Heidi Box" erwirbt man ein Stück Kunstgeschichte zum Anfassen. Das Video Heidi entstand während der spektakulären Ausstellung "LAX" 1992 in der Galerie Krinzinger. Paul McCarthy und Mike Kelley entsannen ein modernes Alptraum-Märchen um die liebe(?) Heidi von der Alm.
Die tatsächliche Auflagenhöhe dieser tollen Box ist sehr gering, da seinerzeit nicht mehr als etwa 20 Exemplare der Kataloge vom verstorbenen Mike Kelley signiert wurden. Das Künstlerbuch "Heidi" von McCarthy existiert aber tatsächlich 50 mal, nur eben das gesamte Set nicht.
